Mr. Paul Lloyd Goings, Sr. age 76 of 205 Tractor Lane, Cana, VA passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at home. He was born to the late Jess and Margaret Eaton Goings in the Flat Rock Community of Surry County on June 28, 1931. After retiring from the Globe Furniture Company in High Point, NC, he moved to Cana, VA to begin his life long career as a farmer on his beloved Wildwood Farms. For several years he and his wife, Flossie sold fresh produce at the Winston-Salem City Market. Mr. Goings was a veteran of the US Army. He is survived by his wife, Flossie C. Goings, of the home, son and daughter-in-law, Paul L. Goings, Jr. and Elizabeth, Trinity, NC, two step sons, Frederick G. Cline, Atlanta, GA, James and Deb Cline, Winston-Salem, NC, a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Bill Adams, Forsyth, GA, two step daughters, Susan C. Furches and Richard, Winston-Salem, NC, Margaret Jean Brewster and Irv Greensboro, NC, 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, two brothers, George Goings, High Point, NC and Gray Goings, Claremont, NC. He also is survived by his faithful pets, Pearl, Alice and Black Dog. In addition to his parents, Mr. Goings was preceded in death by an infant son, Larry Dale Goings and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, March 7, 2008 at Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy conducted by Elder Lacy Gates. Burial will follow in Mount Bethel Moravian Church Cemetery.
