Mr. Paul Jack Johnson, age 83, of Elkin, NC passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Forsyth MedicalCenter in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born in Alleghany County on October 29, 1938, to the late Robert Johnson and the late Mallie Todd Johnson. He was retired from Cash and Carry, and also Surry Central High School as the Custodian, he was a member of Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Lois Dezern Johnson; a sister, Ruth Hill; a brother, Robert Johnson. Surviving is his sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie and Toni Johnson, Jeff and Tamara Johnson; grandchildren, Mathew Delano, Jordan and Marianne Johnson, Dakota Johnson, Morgan and David Dimmette, Joseph and Rebecca Johnson, Jessica Johnson; great-grandchildren, Myles Sheets, Macy Sheets, Jacob Johnson, Weston Testerman, Brantlee Testerman; sister, Barbara Murphy; brother and sister-in-law, Carl Dean and Evelyn Johnson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Thursday December 23, 2021, at Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Jerry Sizemore will officiate the services. The family will receive friends at Jot-Um- Down Fire Department following the committal service. The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church 1267 Poplar Springs Road, Elkin, NC 28621.
