Paul Daniel Stanley

Mr. Paul Daniel Stanley, 76, loving husband of Mrs. Maudie Coe Stanley, of Dobson passed away on Thursday December 27, 2007 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Surry County on May 29, 1931 to the late Albert Daniel and Bertha Hamlin Stanley. Mr. Stanley was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation where he was a heavy equipment operator. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of forty years Maudie Coe Stanley of the home; a son and daughter-in-law Danny and Shannan Stanley of Dobson; a step-daughter Ann and husband Tony Benge of Thurmond, five grandchildren Darren and wife Fetima Barker, Daryl and wife Tonya Barker, Derick Barker, "Sissy" Benge and Daniel Stanley; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Norma and husband Pell Williams of East Bend, and Peggy and R.C. Wishon of Jonesville; three brothers-in-law Gurney and wife Lessie Coe of Dobson, Eddie and wife Betty Ann Coe of Jonesville and Raymond and wife Helen Coe of Dobson. Funeral services will be held at 4 pm Sunday at Swaims Baptist Church in Hamptonville, NC with Rev. Craig Waldie officiating and burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Saturday at Moody-Davis Funeral Home where his body will remain until time to be taken to the church to lie-in-state thirty minutes prior to the funeral service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in Mr. Stanley's honor to Swaims Baptist Church 3919 Swaims Church Road Hamptonville, NC 67020. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital for all the compassion and care shown to Mr. Stanley and the family during his stay there.
