Paula Elizabeth Wood Pratt

Mrs. Paula Elizabeth Wood Pratt, 75, of Dobson, NC passed away December 26, 2023. Paula was born September 2, 1948, in Surry County to the late Samuel Montgomery and Pearl Elizabeth Barber Wood. She was a devout Christian and faithful member of Little Richmond Baptist Church. Paula loved to write and was a master storyteller, one of her great ambitions was to be an English teacher. Mrs. Pratt enjoyed reading, most notably, the Bible. She was also a very talented cook and gardener. Paula loved Elvis and was an avid enthusiast of his music. She also enjoyed traveling to Tennessee and exploring around Cades Cove. Paula was a loving wife, mother, sister, friend, and grandmother. Her true joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchild, which she loved with all her heart and soul. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jerry Clayton Pratt; daughters and son-in-law, Shannon Pratt Southard and Marty, and Sherri Elizabeth Pratt; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Kevin Pratt and Julie; grandchildren, Hope Denise Southard, Ally Pratt Stanley (Reid), Carley Faith Pratt, Brooke Elizabeth Mosley, Dylan Scott Mosley, Adam Cole Southard; great-grandchild, Hudson Reid Stanley; and sisters, Shirley Maxine Wood Brindle, and Penny Eileen Wood. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Bobby Brindle and Mark Wood. A Celebration of Paula’s life will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Little Richmond Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Pardue and Bro. Jerry Pratt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service in the Little Richmond Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would also like to thank the church family at Little Richmond Baptist Church for all the love, prayers, and visits.
