Mrs. Paulette Brindle Hooker, age 71, of State Road, NC passed away on Friday morning January 3, 2020, at her daughter's home. She was born in Surry County on May 1, 1948, to the late Ernest Brady Brindle and the late Cassie Jones Brindle. She was retired from the Candle Factory and was a member of Open Door Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Alvin Hooker; sister, Earnestine Chatman; brother, Buddy Brindle. Surviving are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Michael Holbrook, Raynette and Rodney Hutchens; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Susan Hooker; five grandchildren, Sharon Whitt, Jessica, and Andrew Jordan, Samuel Hutchens, Emma Hutchens, Austin Hooker; great-grandchildren, Brayden Whitt, Cole Whitt, Layla Jordan, Liam Jordan; sisters, Clarine Hudson, Faye Fletcher; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Shirley Brindle, Donnie Ray and Brenda Brindle; special niece, Darlene Wolfe; special brother-in-law, Cecil Hooker, special sister-in-law, Ruby Davis. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 6, 2020, in the cemetery of Open Door Baptist Church, with Rev. Mike Martin officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Monday from 12:00 PM until time to go to the cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 688 North Bridge St. Elkin, NC 28621. The family would like to give a special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the love and care given to their mother.
