Nancy "Pauline" Dollyhite Martin

Mrs. Nancy Pauline Dollyhite Martin, age 95 of Mount Airy, passed away Monday morning January 29, 2024, at her home.  She was born May 6, 1928, in Surry County to the late Jesse Franklin Dollyhite and Margie Hooker Dollyhite.  She was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  Mrs. Pauline was the oldest living member of Slate Mountain Baptist Church.  Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Jane Hord of Mount Airy; three sons, Kenneth and Peggy Martin of Ararat, VA, Mike Martin of Dobson, and Ricky and Wendy Martin of Wallburg; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Dollyhite of Mount Airy; and several other family and friends.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Lesslie Arthur Martin; great-grandson, Troy Martin; sister, Rachel Annie Dollyhite Jessup; brother, Joe Bill Dollyhite; daughter -in-law, Jane Martin; and a son-in-law, Alan Lewis Hord.  Funeral services will be held Thursday February 1, 2024, at 2:00pm at Slate Mountain Baptist Church with Brother Chris McMillian and Brother Mike Martin officiating.   Burial will follow in the Mount Herman Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Slate Mountain Baptist Church, 3644 E. Pine St., Mount Airy, NC 27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
