Pauline Smith Gilley

Mrs. Pauline Agnes Smith Gilley, age 74, of Mount Airy passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at her home. She was born in Patrick County, VA, the daughter of the late Paul Winchester and Mabel Clement Smith. Mrs. Gilley was a retired office manager and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her nieces, Renee Alexander; Tracey Vogler, and Jennifer Sayler; nephews, Philgene Montgomery, Jr.; Mike Gilley, Jr., and Shawn Gilley; sister-in-law, Janet Gilley; special friends, Lannie and Tim Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Gilley, Sr., a son, Stephen Gilley, Jr., a sister, Mary Lee Montgomery, and brother-in-law, Mike Gilley.  A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 2:00 PM, at Oakdale Cemetery with Rev. Buford Jessup officiating. The family will visit with friends after the graveside at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Surry Animal Rescue, PO Box 981, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
