Mrs. Pauline Ann Payne Martin, 80, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, September 10, 2021, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt. Airy. She was born in Surry County on October 11, 1940, to the late Anderson and Sarah Johnson Payne. Mrs. Martin was a faithful member of Blue Hollow Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Rickey Martin and Teresa; grandchildren, Emily Martin and Gentry, Adam Martin and Kirsten; great grandchildren, Hunter Martin, Ethan Martin, Christian Martin, Tori Martin. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin James Martin; a brother, Junior Ray Payne. A funeral service will be held Monday, September 13, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Blue Hollow Baptist Church with the Rev. Rickey Martin and the Rev. David Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow in Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at Blue Hollow Baptist Church. Due to COVID-19 concerns, the family asks that attendees wear a face mask and practice social distancing. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
