Pearlie Darlene Holt Terry

Ms. Pearlie Darlene Holt Terry, 60, of 2137 Fancy Gap Road, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Ms. Terry was born December 6, 1948, in Stokes County, a daughter of Alvis Daniel and Eloise Vernell Martin Holt. She was formerly employed at Sara Lee Socks Inc. and a member of Albion Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Shonia Atkins and Melissa and Brandon Wilson, all of Mount Airy; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Marty and Annette Terry of Lambsburg, VA, and Daniel Terry of Mount Airy; eleven grandchildren, D.J. Atkins, Caitlin Atkins, Caleb Atkins, Bryson Wilson, Layden Wilson, Kandon Wilson, Nicole Terry, Maggie Terry, Martina Terry, Hailey Terry, and Ashley Terry; her mother, Eloise Vernell Martin Holt of Mount Airy; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Laura Leigh Powell of Pilot Mountain, Mary Alice Woods of Mount Airy, and Beverly Ann and Fred Wendorf of Ararat; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Curtis Eric Holt of Mount Airy and Phillip Daniel and Peggy Holt of King. Ms. Terry was preceded in death by two grandsons, Stephen Austin Atkins and Casey Owen Terry; her father, Alvis Daniel Holt; her maternal grandparents, Curtis Lamer and Pearlie Anne Hooker Martin; her paternal grandparents, Joseph Phillip and Amanda Ellen Rogers Holt; and a stepgrandmother, Bertha Inman Martin. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 13, 2009, at 4:00 PM at Albion Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Odell Sisk and the Rev. Rickey Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes before the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Moody Funeral Services, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to help defray the funeral expenses.
