Peggy Jane Darnell Bare

Mrs. Peggy Jane Darnell Bare, 64, of East Bend, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 18, 2008, at her home. Mrs. Bare was born March 1, 1944, in Surry County, to Warren Henry Darnell and the late Edna Bradley Darnell. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a dedicated friend to many. Psalm 121. Surviving are a daughter, Debora Len Bare of the home; an "adopted son," Brian David Smith; a son, Dana Swift of Boone; four grandchildren, Michael Warren Bare, Kinza Alen Bare, Kelly Ann Bare, and Mercedes Len Bare; her father, Warren Henry Darnell of East Bend; a sister, Nancy Nuckles of Myrtle Beach, SC; a brother-in-law, Hubert Nuckles of Tobaccoville; a niece, Stephanie Nuckles; aunts, Lossie B. Cheek of Cambridge, MA, Mozelle B. Marsh of Winston-Salem, and Willie B. Dancy of Hays; and an uncle, Bill Bradley of Advance. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Bare was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy P. House; and her grandmother, Lillie Bradley. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Pine Hill Friends Church, with Pastor Mark Simmons officiating, whom Mrs. Bare deeply trusted and felt was a "godly man." The family will receive friends at their home at any time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Debora Len Bare, 3919 Holly Springs Road, East Bend, NC 27018, or Yadkin Valley Hospice.
