Mrs. Peggy Delores Belton Fleming, 82, of 838 South Main Street, Mount Airy, passed away early Saturday morning, February 27, 2016, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Fleming was born February 18, 1934, in Surry County, one of five children born to the late Dewey Francis and Ella Mae Corn Belton. Peggy retired as the owner and office manager of Fleming Pest Control Company and was a member of House of Prayer Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and the Rev. Roger Sechrist and Tammy and Glenn Easter, all of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, John Fleming, III and Amy Fleming of Mount Airy; four grandchildren and their spouses, Eva and Michael Cassell, Eric and Heather Sechrist, Coty and Victoria, and Gavin Fleming, all of Mount Airy; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie Thornton of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fleming was preceded in death by her husband, John William Fleming, Jr.; and three brothers, Jerry Belton, Persey Belton, and Dewey Belton. A graveside service will be held Monday, February 29, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev. Roger Sechrist officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
