Peggy Jean Williams Hooker

Mrs. Peggy Jean Williams Hooker, age 71, of State Road, NC  passed away at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC on Sunday morning October 9, 2022.  She was born in Surry County on January 9, 1951, to the late Richard Martin Williams and the late Mary Jane Landreth Williams.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucy Collins, Brenda Phillips, Regina Wilson: two brothers, Terry Williams, and Wesley Williams.  Peggy was a self-employed and worked on the family farm. Surviving is her husband, Cecil Ray Hooker; two daughters, Rhonda Jean Hooker, Marcia Ann (Buffy) Whitaker; grandchildren, Amber York (Stephane), Kendra York, Leah Mae Martin (Justin); great-grandchildren, Levi York, Alyssa York, Jayden Martin, Lexi Martin, Hunter Martin; sister Marie Hodges; several nieces and nephews.   Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday October 12, 2022, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Open Door Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Terry Longworth will officiate the services.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening at Moody-Davis Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  The family would like to give a special thanks to Tina Trenter for the love and care given to their wife, and mother.
