Mrs. Peggy Tilley Lowe, age 82, of Union Hill, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born June 23, 1940, in Surry County to the late Adolphus Linville and Margie Caroline Walker Tilley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lonnie Rufus Lowe Sr.; her son Charles Lee Lowe; granddaughter, Sonia Lynn Henry; sister Mattie Marie Cornett; brothers, James Tilley, Jimmy Dean Tilley, and Jerry Tilley.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Sue and Jimmy Young; her son, Lonnie Rufus Lowe Jr.; grandchildren, Lonnie Matthew (Laken) Lowe, Samuel Jeffrey Lowe, and Crystal Dawn Henry; great grandchildren, Case River Lowe, Destiny Storm Lyons, and Jasmine Raye Jones; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Frances and Joe Layell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Houston David and Nancy Tilley, Robert Paige Tilley, and Kenneth William and Lucille Tilley; and her sister-in-law Melvinia Tilley; and several nieces and nephews.
Peggy was retired from Cracker Barrel with 21 years of service, a homemaker and loved growing her tomatoes, roses, and indoor plants, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved cooking for her family. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 12:30- 2:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM in the Moody-Davis Chapel with Pastor Don Fellows and Pastor Tony White officiating. Burial will follow in the White Rock Methodist Church Cemetery on Haystack Road in Thurmond. The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice and the staff of the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for their care of Peggy; and also to Brenda Groce and Peggy Anderson, and a special niece, Betty Fellows and other special friends. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Lowe family.
