Peggy Wood Mitchell

Mrs. Peggy Wood Mitchell, age 74, of Rocky Mount, Virginia, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.  She was born on June 18, 1947, to the late Roy W. Wood and Ada B. Wood.  In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Mike Mitchell, and step-grandson, Kris Mitchell. 

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her son, Randall Hodges; five grandchildren, Savannah (mother Jennifer) Maranda, J.R., Dalton, and John; two great-grandchildren Charlie and Caoilainn;  three step-sons, Warren, Adam, and Matt Mitchell; nine step-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Hazelwood (David) of South Boston, Virginia, Nancy Nelson (Danny) of Sandy Ridge, North Carolina, and Beverly "Bez" Morrison (Sam) of Woolwine, Virginia; one brother, Rodney "Woody" Wood (Robin) of Ferrum, Virginia; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts; and one very dear friend, Wanda Mills.  All loved her very much.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Open Door Community Church, 355 Dent Street, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151.  Moody Funeral Home in Stuart was entrusted with the arrangements.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
