Peggy Linda Atkins Patton

Mrs. Peggy Linda Atkins Patton, 70, of 117 Glendale Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Monday, December 28, 2009, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Patton was born November 19, 1939, in Surry County, to Thelma June Marion Atkins and the late James Ellis Atkins. She retired from Kentucky Derby Hosiery. Surviving are her husband, Arthur Patton of the home; a daughter, Linda Hall Dellinger of Hickory; a stepdaughter and her husband, Barbara and Bryant Utt of Mount Airy; two stepgrandchildren; three great-stepgrandchildren; her mother, Thelma June Marion Atkins of Dobson; a brother, Bruce Atkins of Dobson; and two nephews. In addition to her father, Mrs. Patton was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Atkins. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 2, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Dale Hawks officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
