Peggy Ann Scott

Peggy Ann Scott, age 79, of Mt. Airy, MD, passed away October 10, 2021 at the Kline Hospice House in Mt. Airy, MD. Peggy was born in Washington County, VA to the late Bradley and Katherine Strouth. Peggy lived most of her life in Rockville and Mt. Airy, MD. She graduated from Montgomery Blair High School in 1960. Peggy was active in the Red Hat Society, past member of the American Legion Auxiliary, was an avid genealogist and has published a book titled, “The Strouth Family Russel County Virginia 1840-1994”. Peggy was a beloved wife and mother. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ronald “Scotty” Scott; sons Randall Scott (Marci), William Scott and Robert Scott (Patricia); grandchildren Brianna and Tyler Scott; siblings James, Jean (Denny), Sam (Diane), David, Bob (Shirley); brother-in-laws Terry Scott (Janice) and Gary McLaughlin; sister-in-law Carolyn Nixon (Roger), and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by her siblings Sherman, Kathy, John and Jimmy. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 12:30-1:30 at Moody Funeral Home. Those attending the viewing must wear a mask or adequate face covering. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Legion Post 171.
