Peggy Lorene Sparger

Mrs. Peggy Lorene Sutphin Sparger, 90, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Surry Community Health and Rehabilitation in Mt. Airy.  She was born in Surry County on September 9, 1932, to the late Rowdy and Nannie Slaydon Sutphin.  Mrs. Sparger was retired from the Surry County Tax Department.  She is survived by a grandchild, Joshua Ray Venable; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sparger was preceded in death by her husband John William Sparger; a son, Carroll Ray Venable; a grandchild, Dusty Ray Venable; sisters and brothers-in-law, Josie Marie Sutphin, Curtis Jeffrey and Gladys Sutphin, Bernice Loretta and James Rakes, Edward Junior and Glenda Sutphin, Hugh Carroll Sutphin, Geneva Sutphin Lane.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
