Peggy Ann Gravley Thomas

Mrs. Peggy Ann Gravley Thomas, 78, of 518 North Franklin Road, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Thomas was born February 26, 1933, in Surry County, to the late Albert and Bertha A. Jones Gravley. She retired from Renfro Corporation and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy T. and Steven R. Moxley of Independence, VA, Penny T. and Roger Dale Ayers, Jr. of Harmony, and Edwina T. and Kevin Ganter of Winston-Salem; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ricky L. and Brenda R. Thomas of Mount Airy and Dwain Thomas of Statesville; five grandchildren, Matthew D. Thomas, Jacob A. Thomas, Caleb L. Thomas, Hannah N. Utt, and Holden I. Utt; and two great-grandchildren, Emmory Claire Thomas and Anslee Kate Thomas. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Ed" Thomas; and two brothers, Joseph F. Gravley and James H. Gravley. A graveside service will be held Friday, December 16, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev. Kenneth Jessup officiating. The family will receive friends Friday at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 12:30 until the time for Mrs. Thomas to be taken to the cemetery for the graveside service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
