Peggy Joyce Vernon

Mrs. Peggy Joyce Cagle Vernon, 74, of Cana, VA, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at her residence.  She was born May 13, 1945 to the late Luther and Claudia Cagle.  She was retired from the medical field as a CNA.  She had passion and took great pride in caring for those in need.  Mrs. Vernon is survived by her two daughters and son in law, Gwynnette Renee Queen of the home, Denise Yevette Butcher and husband Jerry of Pilot Mountain; grandchildren; Donald Wayne, Chris, Jennifer, Nathan, Tamela, Crystal, Thomas, Amber and eleven precious great-great grandchildren; sister, Gail Haymore and husband Ron of Mt. Airy.  In addition of her parents Mrs. Vernon was preceded in death by her late husband Bobby Gene Vernon, sister, Willodean Evans; brother Revis Cagle, and brother-in-law Ronald.  Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial service will be planned for a later date.  The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the care and support during Peggy’s illness.
