Penny Sue Sardler

Miss Penny Sue Sardler, 37, of 5458 West Pine Street, Mount Airy, fell asleep in the arms of Jesus at her home on Saturday, May 16, 2009, as her loving family surrounded her bedside. She was born October 11, 1971, in Surry County, to Terry Ray and Diane Harold Sardler. Penny was a special gift from God who touched the lives of everyone she met and brought great joy to her family. She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Terry Ray and Diane Harold Sardler of the home; her brother and best friend, Scotty and his fiance, Jamie Dycus, of Mount Airy; a special niece, Natasha Sardler; several special aunts and uncles, including Joe and Sue Sardler; many cousins who truly adored her; and her grandmother, Agnes Sardler. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, May 18, 2009, in the chapel of Moody Funeral Home, by the Rev. Randy Parrish. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday May 17, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, and other times at her home. Special thanks go to her caregiver, Annette Simmons, the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, Surry County Health and Nutrition Center, the Surry County Sherriff's Department, and to all other organizations and friends for all their love and support. A very special thanks to Pat Miller-Madison and Jessie Smith who gave so freely to make it possible for Penny to be flown from Tennessee to Forsyth Medical Center, where she received excellent care during her brief illness.
