Mr. Perry Jerome “Jay” Williams, 66, of Lambsburg, passed away at his home Saturday, November 19, 2022. He was born in Galax, VA, October 2, 1956, to the late Perry Nathaniel and Dorothy Lee Bedsaul Williams. Jay was a dedicated Christian and a founding member of New Beginnings Community Church. He was known for his honesty, encouragement, fun sense of humor, and loyalty to his family, friends and neighbors. Jay would often talk about how amazed he was about God’s great love for him, and he sought to share that love in all his relationships. Jay spent his life serving others and served his community as a Carroll County Deputy Sheriff, where he retired several years ago as a sergeant. Jay is survived by his devoted wife, Ginger Spencer Williams; his daughter and son-in-law, Pepper Basham and Rev. Dwight Basham; daughter-in-law, Sabrina Williams; grandchildren, Benjamin Basham, Chloe Williams, Aaron Basham, Lydia Basham, Laken Williams, Samuel Basham, Phoebe Basham, Kamdyn Williams; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Ronnie Isom; brother and sisters-in-law, Michael and Julie Williams, and Steven and Jill Williams. In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his son, Dustin Williams; and a brother, Curtis Williams. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at New Beginnings Community Church with Rev. Wes Mosteller, Rev. Dud Spencer, Rev. Dwight Basham officiating. A private interment will follow at the Surratt Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 pm until the time of the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to New Beginnings Community Church, 1790 Old Pipers Gap Rd., Cana, VA 24317.
