Phillip Haywood McBride

Mr. Phillip Haywood McBride, 71, of Lowgap, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020, at his home.  He was born March 19, 1949, in Patrick County, VA, to the late William and Nancy Duncan McBride.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will surely be missed by all who knew him.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 52 years, Mary Magdalene Edwards McBride; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Randy Lee and Pamela McBride, Sandy William McBride, and Clinton Dale McBride; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Owens, Brenda and Thomas Gallant, and Patricia Beasley; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jerry McBride and Ricky and Sarah McBride.  In addition to his parents, Mr. McBride was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Ann McBride; two sons, Terry Ray McBride and Scotty Phillip McBride; and three brothers, Richard Ted “Cotton” McBride, Larry McBride, and Roger McBride.  A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at 1:00 PM at McBride Family Cemetery, located at 500 Hunter Hollow Lane, Lowgap, with Elder Rodney Marshall officiating.  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at Chestnut Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Lambsburg, VA.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
