Phillip Dale "Rainmaker" Midkiff

Mr. Phillip Dale Midkiff, age 65 of Pilot Mountain, NC, passed away Saturday February 3, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mr. Midkiff was born August 6, 1958, in Forsyth County to the late Marie Rogers Bowman and Berley Inman Midkiff.  Dale loved music and talking to his buddies on the CB.  He was known as the Rainmaker to all of his CB buds.  Left to cherish his memory are his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Eddie Slate of Pilot Mountain; a niece, Shannon Hill; great nieces and nephews, Savannah and Derek Dove, Brycen McIntyre, Carter Halfman, and Addison Halfman; a great great niece and a great great nephew; special friends, Mike and Jean Carol Stone; special companion, Emma Ureta; special fury friend, Scout; his CB buddies; and several other family and friends.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Midkiff was preceded in death by a niece, Christy Hill; and his stepfather, Harold D. Bowman.   Graveside services will be held at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery on Thursday February 8, 2024, at 2:00pm.  Dale will lie in state on Thursday from 7:00am – 1:00pm.  The family would like to say thank you to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for all of the love and support given to Dale during his illness.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1427 Edgewood Drive, Suite 101, Mount Airy, NC 27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
