Phyllis Ardelia "Dee" Puckett

Mrs. Phyllis Ardelia “Dee” Lovill Puckett, 82, of Mt. Airy, passed away at Central Continuing Care, Saturday, May 21, 2022.  She was born in Surry County, July 9, 1939, to the late Lonzie Lewis and Lottie Delilah McCreary Lovill.  Dee was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend.  She was warm and compassionate, making everyone she met feel special.  Dee was a charter member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church and faithful servant to the end.  She treasured the time she spent with her family.  She along with her late husband owned Ralph Puckett Trucking.  Dee will be lovingly remembered by her daughters and son-in-law, Toni Puckett, Linda “Mouchie” and David Hawks; sons and daughters-in-law, Doug “Haney” and Mary Ann Puckett, Terry and Cindy Puckett, Gary “Bo” and Michelle Puckett, and Jeff “Frog” and Rhonda Puckett; grandchildren and spouses, Brian and Tonya Hawks, Tiffany and Wes Johnson, Cory and Tamika Puckett, Dee Ann and David Carson, Brittany and Jonathan Turney; twelve great grandchildren; her sister Nancy Puckett; and her brother Sandy Lovill.  In addition to her parents, Dee was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ralph Puckett; a special grandson that will never be forgotten, Jock Haynes; a special nephew, Little Willie Puckett; two sisters and five brothers.  The family will receive friends at Blue Ridge Baptist Church Thursday, from 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM. Funeral services will begin at 3:30 PM with Rev. Woody Flippen, Rev. Neal Hawks, Rev. Phil Hawks, and grandson Cory Puckett officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at Central Continuing Care for the wonderful care given to Dee during her stay.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
