Polly Jenkins

Mrs. Polly “Josephine” Hiatt Jenkins, 89 of Ararat, Virginia passed away at Heritage Hall in Laurel Fork, Virginia on Monday, March 8, 2021.  Mrs. Jenkins was born in Carroll County, Virginia on June 8, 1931 to the late Arless and Maola Marshall Hiatt.  Josephine was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  She was a faithful member of Doe Run Baptist Church as well as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Mike Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins and fiancé Vonda Cox; one sister, Libby Shaw; one brother, Marvin Hiatt; and a sister-in-law, Linda Hiatt; a special niece, Nancy Hiatt; and two caregivers, Julia Barr and Jean Harrell.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her husband, Rev., William Clarence Jenkins; one sister, Pauline Hiatt; and two brothers, Lanford Hiatt and Tim Hiatt.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Doe Run Baptist Church with burial to follow in the cemetery.  Rev. Terry Vaughn will be conducting the services.  The family will receive friends on March 12, 2021 at Doe Run Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until time of the service.  Moody Funeral Services of Mount Airy is serving the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
