Polly Newman Jester

Mrs. Polly Newman Jester, age 81, of Thurmond, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024 at The Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born July 14, 1943 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Joseph Thomas Newman and the late Pearl Ireland Newman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Jester and her brothers, Avery Newman, Curtis Newman, and Joseph Thomas Newman Jr.

Left to cherish her memories are her son Terry Porter (Carmen Farris) and her daughter Joyce Atkinson (Will Hoover), five grandchildren and her sister, Ruth Wooten. Mrs. Jester was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother who worked as a seamstress. She enjoyed making quilts and memorial teddy bears for friends and family. Visitation will be Monday, December 23, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. A celebration of her life will follow at 2:00 PM in the Moody-Davis Chapel.
