Polly Sue McMillian

Mrs. Polly Sue Freeman McMillian, age 72, of Mt. Airy, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center.  Mrs. McMillian was born in Bluefield, W. VA on August 10, 1945, to the late Lee Dix “Dick” Freeman, Sr. and Charlie Mae Strickland Freeman. Polly loved her dogs, Charlie, Daisy, Scruffy, Leroy and Otis.   She retired from Northern Hospital of Surry County and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Chester M. McMillian of the home, two daughters, Julie McMillian of Mt. Airy and Lanie McMillian of the home, a son, Nicholas “Nick” McMillian and partner, Michael Motley of Pilot Mountain, two sisters-in-laws, Patricia Freeman of Pilot Mountain and Delores Freeman of Darlington, SC, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McMillian was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee Dix Freeman, Jr. and Charles S. Freeman. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, July31, 2018 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Alton Bledsoe officiating.  There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
