Mr. Quincy Leon Cook, 76, of Mount Airy, passed away early Saturday morning, December 31, 2016, at Universal Health Care in King. Mr. Cook was born February 14, 1940, in Surry County, to the late Quincy Johnnie and Cora Lee Hiatt Cook. He worked in a furniture factory for many years and was a member of the Christian faith. He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Norma Lee and Luther Shelton of Flint, MI; a twin brother, Max Ravon Cook of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews; and special friends and caregivers, Mike Midkiff, Guida Mae Midkiff, and William Wood, all of Mount Airy, and Debbie Midkiff of King. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cook was preceded in death by a brother, Rex Lavelle Cook. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Brother Fred Barton officiating. Burial will follow in the Nelson Family Cemetery in Fancy Gap, VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at Universal Health Care.
