Rachel Mayvone Faw Puckett

Mrs. Rachel Mayvone Faw Puckett, 78, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.  She was born in Surry County on March 12, 1945, to the late William Euriah and Mittie Ann Jarrell Faw.  Mrs. Puckett retired from Blue Ridge Burk Insurance Company.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Puckett is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Puckett; a daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Alvis Hall; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Angie Puckett; grandchildren, Justin Pucket and wife Shaina, Jacob Puckett and wife Maddison, Chris Hall, Natisha Carter and husband Jeremy; great-grandchildren, Adalyn Puckett, Holdyn Puckett, Lacy Carter, and one on the way; a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Ann Faw; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by sisters and brother-in-law, Ruby and Jim Uldrick, and Louise and Dillard Vaughn; brothers and sister-in-law, Herbert and Betty Jo Faw, and Paul Faw.  A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at 3:30 PM at Highland Park Baptist Church with services conducted by Dr. Darrell Tate.  Entombment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM until time for the service at Highland Park Baptist Church.
