Rachel Magdalene Tesh

Mrs. Rachel Magdalene Hall Tesh, age 81, of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019, at the Woltz Hospice Home.  Mrs. Tesh was born in Surry County on March 29, 1937, to Floyd Edgar and Ellen Chandler Hall.  She was a loving grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.  Surviving are her granddaughters, Heather Montgomery; and Jessica Childress; great grandchildren, Ava Goodwin, and Owen Childress; a son-in-law, Randy Montgomery; special nieces, Linda Simmons and Patricia Bond and several other nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tesh was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Moorefield Tesh; a daughter, Jackie Montgomery; sisters, Essie Hall, Bessie Easter, and Ruth Embry; brothers, Jesse Hall, Elmo Hall, and Bobby Hall and a half-brother, Dee Hall.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Shining Light Baptist Church, by Rev. Elmo Hiatt.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery and the family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.  The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Central Continuing Care for the exceptional care given to Mrs. Tesh during her stay there.
