Ralph Jerry Childress

Mr. Ralph Jerry Childress, 79, of King passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Village Care of King.  He was born in Surry County on March 28, 1940 to the late Foy and Sallie Childress.  Mr. Childress proudly served our country in the United States Army.  He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Childress, Melanie and Philip Slate, Lisa Kisamore, Gerri and Eugene Mazur; sons, Jeff Childress, and Trey Childress; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Polly Hall, and Margaret Marshall; a brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Lynn Childress; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Childress was preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Love, and Hazel Shaw; brothers, James Bryant Childress, and Billy Gray Childress.  There will be a private memorial service at a later date.  Moody Funeral Services in Mt.
