Ralph Puckett

Mr. Ralph Puckett, age 86, of Pine Ridge, passed away at Genesis Health Care in Sparta surrounded by his loving children on Sunday, August 8, 2021. He was born in Surry County, February 1, 1935, to the late John and Eliza Senter Puckett. Ralph greeted everyone with a smile and a friendly conversation. He became a friend to everyone he met. Ralph bravely served in the U.S. Army, was a charter member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church; and a member of Round Peak Masonic Lodge # 616 AF & AM. He retired from Pike Electric and was also the owner and operator of Ralph Puckett Trucking. Ralph cherished his family, with strong guidance he never failed to express his deepest love. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Phyllis “Dee” Lovill Puckett, daughters and son-in-law, Toni Puckett, Linda “Mouchie” and David Hawks; sons and daughters-in-law, Doug “Haney” and Mary Ann Puckett; Terry and Cindy Puckett, Gary “Bo” and Michelle Puckett, and Jeff “Frog” and Rhonda Puckett; grandchildren and spouses, Brian and Tonya Hawks, Tiffany and Wes Johnson, Cory and Tamika Puckett, Dee Ann and David Carson, Brittany and Jonathan Turney; twelve great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buck and Nancy Puckett, Bobby and Deborah Puckett, and Ann Puckett. In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by a grandson that will never be forgotten Jock Haynes; a sister Betty McMillian; brother Jim Puckett; and a special nephew Willie Puckett. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Blue Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Arlis Thomas and grandson Cory Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors by VFW Honor Guard Mt. Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436. Masonic rites will be conducted by Round Peak Masonic Lodge #616. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service and at other times at the home of “Frog” and Rhonda.
