Randall Cosby "Sonny" Cockerham

Mr. Randall Cosby "Sonny" Cockerham, age 66 of Mt. Airy, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Cockerham was born in Surry County on September 16, 1946 to Daniel Cosby and Betty Atkins Cockerham. He was retired from Bassett Furniture. Surviving are his wife, Judy Galyean Cockerham of the home; a daughter Tammy Adame and special friend, Fernando Ramirez of Mt. Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Jennifer Cockerham also of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Adriana "Ollie" Adame and special friend Jose Reyes, Josh Adame, Shawn Parker, Kelsey "Sweet Pea" Cockerham; great grandchildren, Jordin Reyes and Caydin "Peanut" Reyes; sisters and brothers-in-law, Georgia and Henry Edwards of Pilot Mountain, Delta Puckett and Mary Ann and Joe Hull all of Mt. Airy; and a brother, Ricky Cockerham and special friend, Paula Driver of Mt. Airy and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cockerham was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Dean Cockerham and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Closer Walk Baptist Church by Rev. Doug Cockerham, Rev. Rickey Martin and Rev. Nelson Parker. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 also at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mrs. Cockerham for expenses.
