Randy Dale Hawks

Mr. Randy Dale Hawks, 45, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born January 10, 1966, in Alleghany County, to Carol Lowe Hawks and the late Rex Dale Hawks. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Staley and Eva Lowe and Jessie and Garney Hawks; and a special friend, Danny Marion. Mr. Hawks was the owner and operator of Chris Grocery on Kapps Mill Road and was a member of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his mother, Carol Lowe Hawks of the home; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kathy Hawks of the home and Donna and Dale Bennett of Mount Airy; a special niece and her fiancé, Kindle Hawks and Brian Giles; a step-niece, Nikki Bennett; two nephews, David Kyle Hall and Cody Hall; a special cousin, Janie Hawks; several other cousins and friends; and his special friends, Jerry Edwards, J.W. Martin, Mike Cockerham, Steve Burcham, Steve, Dennis, and Neil Wilmoth, Charles Pierce, Eddie Brown, Jeffery Kinton, Buddy Shackleford, Carol and JC Shackleford, Marty Crouse, and many other special friends. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with the Rev. Bill Spurlin officiating. Burial will follow in the in the Round Peak Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, and other times at the home of his mother.
