Randy James Vaughan

Mr. Randy James Vaughan, 69, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Vaughan was born January 20, 1954, in Grayson County, VA, to James Vaughan and the late Norma Shaw Vaughan.  Randy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  Mr. Vaughan was the owner and operator of Vaughan Heating and Cooling, and he was a member of Round Peak Masonic Lodge #616 A.F. & A.M.  Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Joanie Vaughan; a daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Daniel Jefferson; a stepdaughter and her husband, Sheila and Tommy Brintle; six grandchildren, Jackson Vaughan, Annsley Puckett, Julianna Vaughan, Jenna Jefferson, Chynna Brintle, and Julius Brintle; his father, James Bill Vaughan; a brother, Doug Vaughan; a niece, Bea Vaughan; and a nephew, Gus Vaughan.  In addition to his mother, Mr. Vaughan was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Ann Bunker Vaughan; and a sister, Diana Vaughan.  The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Eric Smith officiating.  Interment will follow in The Peoples Church Cemetery, with Masonic rites conducted by Round Peak Masonic Lodge #616 A.F. & A.M.  The family will receive friends Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.  The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the loving care given to Mr. Vaughan.
