Ray Lee Lawless

         Mr. Ray Lee Lawless, age 92 of Ridgeway, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Reidsville, North Carolina.  He was born in Patrick County on February 2, 1928 to the late Tommy Lee Lawless and Ida “Bell” Lackey Lawless.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Lawless was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Lawless; a brother, Irvin Lawless; five sisters, Clara Lawson, Vada Compton, Ola Stone, Orea Scott and Verna Lawson; and a close friend, Sarah Satterfield.  He retired from R.P. Thomas Trucking.  He loved fishing, traveling to the beach, and cutting down trees more than any man on earth.  His family always came first.

         Mr. Lawless is survived by his four children, Junior Lee Lawless and wife, Vikki of Ridgeway, Shiann Baker of Eden, North Carolina, Lonnie Lawless and his wife, Melissa of Ridgeway, and Sherwin Todd Lawless of Ridgeway; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

         Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Tom Knight officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 until time of the service at the funeral home.  Family and friends are also welcome to come by the home of his son, Junior Lee Lawless, 100 Farmbrook Road, Ridgeway, before or after the service.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
