Mr. Ray Alton Love, 82, of Mt. Airy passed away peacefully at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, Friday, March 19, 2021. He was born in Surry County July 28, 1938, to the late Roy and Sally Hunter Love. Mr. Love was a retired commercial painter. He was a faithful member of Woodville Baptist Church. He also was a member of Westfield Ruritan club where he had served as past president. He liked people and had a strong concern for his community and services he could provide. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Linda Milholen Love; his daughter Matoka Maxey and husband David; his adored granddaughter Mallory Maxey; a sister Veneeda Anderson; a special family friend, Lindy Webb. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Kilby and Dr. Jonathan Casstevens. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. Although, there will not be any formal visitation, anyone that is unable to attend the service on will be welcome to pay their respect at the funeral home prior to the service Sunday. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, Jonathan Casstevens, Rhonda Felts, and Jennifer Thomas; and the staff in the CICU at Forsyth Medical Center.
