Ray Wallace Sechrist

Mr. Ray Wallace Sechrist, age 87, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Friday morning July 26, 2024, at his residence. Mr. Sechrist was born October 26, 1936, to the late Annice Cook Pell. Mr. Sechrist was a very faithful member of Simmons Grove Baptist Church. He had a dear passion for attending the classic car shows, enjoyed blue grass music, and loved watching nascar races. Mr. Sechrist was employed for many years as a lineman for Pike Electric, and even after his retirement he would transport cars to and from car dealerships. Mr. Sechrist is survived by his special friend, Elaine Hill Harbour; sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Sechrist and Kathy, Boyd Alan Sechrist; grandchild, Evelyn Elliott; great grandchildren, Ethan Butler, Emma Gunter; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Evelyn Pell, Ruth Stinson and Les, Annie Jordan and Dr. Dick Jordan; brother and sister-in-law, Newell Pell and Sue; several nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Lester Pell; loving wife Faye Arrington Sechrist, one daughter, Susan Ray Elliott; brother-in-law, Dr. Bill Jordan. A celebration of Mr. Sechrist’s life will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Simmons Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jacob Hall officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to Simmons Grove Baptist Church 443 Simmons Grove Church Road, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Sechrist family.
