Raymond Foster Gravley

Mr. Raymond Foster Gravley, age 75 of Mt Airy, passed away at his home Sunday morning, January 20, 2008. Mr. Gravley was born December 14, 1932 in Wythe County, VA to the late Malcolm Robinson and Gracie Mae Akers Gravley. He served in the US Navy for twenty years, serving time in Vietnam, Korea and other skirmishes. Mr. Gravley is survived by his wife, Wanda Gravley of the home; a son Michael Gravely and friend, Lisa Schonknecht both of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Brittani Jade Gravley and Bryson Drake Gravley; a sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Emmett Yonce of Roanoke, VA., and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gravley was preceded in death by a son, Raymond David "Tinker" Gravely and two brothers, Charlie and Malcolm Gravley, Jr. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Disabled Veterans, Unit 61, 131 W. Lebanon St., Mt.
