Raymond Odis Hodge

Mr. Raymond Odis Hodge, 86, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born November 21, 1923, in Surry County, to the late Tom and Roxie Scott Hodge. Mr. Hodge bravely served our country in the United States Air Force in World War II. Mr. Hodge retired from Perry Manufacturing and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Hodge was a avid trader and had many friends he loved to trade with. He is survived by his wife, Jessie Edwards Hodge of the home; a brother and sister-in-law, Norris and Jo Hodge of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hodge was preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes Raines and Naomie Newman. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Gene Sherrill and Mr. Johnny Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until time to go to the cemetery.
