Mr. Reavis Edward Brim, age 87, of Mount Airy, NC passed away on Tuesday March 5, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. He was born in Surry County, October 24, 1936, the son of the late Romney Samuel and Voda Gammons Brim. Mr. Brim enjoyed raising and trading cattle and was an avid fisherman. He also loved racing on dirt tracks and NASCAR sanctioned events. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Military Police. Surviving are his children; Shelia B. Chase, Tanoth B. Mason (Mike), Eddie Brim, Jamie Hill (Julie), and David Johnson (Heather); grandchildren, Brandi Smith, Jonathan Chase, Keelie Chalmers (Kyle), Jami Chase, Cadyen Hill, Carson Hill, Carley Hill, Kirsten Chalmers; great grandchildren, Delilah Delk and Malcolm Delk, his significant other, Debbie Collins; sisters, Oleeta Chilton, Kornella Martin (Don); brother, Delbert Brim. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Vernie Watson, Leeronie Easter, Gloma Brim, Plato Brim, and Bronson Brim. Funeral services will be held Friday, 2:00 PM, March 8, 2024, at Welcome Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Jackon, Rev. Robbie Sizemore and Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Surry County Veterans Cemetery with graveside rites conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard of Mount Airy and Pilot Mountain. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at Welcome Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy is serving the Brim family.
