Rebecca Lynn Howlett Bowman

Mrs. Rebecca Lynn Howlett Bowman, 66, of Ararat, VA, passed away at her home on Thursday morning, September 8, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born September 2, 1956, in Surry County to Virginia Lee Inman Howlett and the late Lawley William Howlett, Sr.  In addition to her father, Lynn was preceded in death by an infant daughter; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Rev. Dr. L. W. Howlett, Jr. and Peggy Goad Howlett, and Bobby Howlett; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.  She was retired from Hall’s Plants and was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church.  In addition to her mother, Lynn is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 48 years, Ricky Bowman, Sr.; son, Ricky Bowman, Jr. and friend Heather Tolbert; a daughter, Ashley Bowman and her fiancé Brian Hicks; six grandchildren, Blake, Austin, Amber and her husband Sam Hinson, Dylan, Trey, and Andrew; two great-grandchildren, Norah and Lennon; her fur baby, Cocoa; three brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Debbie Howlett, Timothy and Cathy Howlett, and Terry and Wanda Howlett; sister and brother-in-law, Kaye and Johnnie Jones; sisters-in-law, Alice, Carlene, Velda (Bill), Pam, Lucille; brother-in-law, Tim (Barbara); and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 3:00PM at Trinity Baptist Church in Claudville with the Rev. Chad Harrison, Rev. Rick Byerly, and Rev. Michael Morrison officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 1:30PM – 3:00PM.  The family would like to give special thanks to Mike and Jane Fulk from Ararat Rescue Squad and the Mountain Valley Hospice Staff.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Bowman family.
