Reitha Kaye Ramey

Ms. Reitha Kaye Cecil Ramey, 70, of Mount Airy, passed away early Monday morning, November 5, 2018, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Ms. Ramey was born July 23, 1948, in Grayson County, VA, one of seven children born to the late Garnett Jefferson and Nellie Aldred Cecil.  Reitha retired as a seamstress from Alpha Manufacturing.  She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dena and Tim Dollyhigh of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Vickie Ramey of Dobson; eight grandchildren, Brittany Church, T.J. Ramey, Tess Ramey, Garrett Draughn, Elliott Draughn, Ammen Mounce, Travis Dollyhigh, and Amber Dollyhigh; six great-grandchildren, Brayden Dollyhigh, Bryar Dollyhigh, Riley Church, Haley Church, Sophie Dollyhigh, and Sadie Dollyhigh; a great-grandchild on-the-way, Ansley Blaike Ramey; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Nancy Surratt and Mattie Sue and Neil Easter, all of Mount Airy, and Teena and Calvin Moxley of South Carolina; a twin brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Ila Cecil of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Ms. Ramey was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Cecil and Bobby Cecil.  The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Amazing Grace Baptist Church, with Dr. Jonathan Barker and the Rev. Scotty Bullins officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Amazing Grace Baptist Church, 1053 Blevins Store Road, Mount Airy, NC  27030; or the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC  27017.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
