Rev. Arnold Bea "Doc" Burden

Rev. Arnold Bea "Doc" Burden age 96 of 808 Hamburg Street, Mount Airy, widower of Agnes Burden, passed away on Sunday June 15, 2008 at Central Continuing Care. Rev. Burden was born in Tennessee on March 2, 1912 to the late John H. Burden and Lilly Randoff Burden. He was a retired minister and a member of the Church of God. Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law, Freda Farley of North Salem, IN, Lorine Hornaday, Helen and Paul Robinson and Sarah Burden and Orlo Clifton all of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Arnold and Patricia Burden of Mansfield, OH; twelve grandchildren, Gray Farley, Kenny Farley, Glenn Farley, Robin Brooks, Tim Farley, David Burden, Debbie Blossemer, Randy Hornaday, Brent Hornaday, Tommy Burden, Patrick Robinson and Tina Puckett; twenty one great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and special friends, Laverne Keith, Jerry and Faye Edwards, Gary Fore, Charlotte Musick and all his friends at Central Continuing Care. In addition to his parents and wife, Rev. Burden was preceded in death by three sisters, Nelly O'Brian, Katie Thurman and Lennie Redden and by one brother, Daley Burden and five half brothers, Bill Burden, Ed Burden, Marion Kidwell, Mac Kidwell and Clay Kidwell. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy conducted by Rev. Charles Powers and Rev. Robbie Sizemore. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 Wednesday at Moody Funeral Home. .Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made toward Rev.
