Rev. Bobby Ray Rorrer

Rev. Bobby Ray Rorrer, age 72 of Reidsville, North Carolina, and formerly of Patrick County, Virginia, passed away Monday, November 23, 2009 at Britthaven of Madison. He was born in Patrick County on May 3, 1937 to the late Lemily Hampton Rorrer and Mildred Virginia Dollarhite Rorrer. In addition to his parents, Rev. Rorrer was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara W. Rorrer; one daughter, Robin R. Horton; one son, Mark Rorrer; and two brothers, Jimmy Rorrer and Clarence Leon Rorrer. He was a member of McLeansville Baptist Church, and had been a Baptist minister for over 35 years.
Rev. Rorrer is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sherry Rorrer of Reidsville, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Diana Rorrer, Tiffany Horton, Caleb Rorrer, Benjamin Rorrer and Adam Rorrer; one brother and sister-in-law, Herbert L. and Patsy Rorrer of Stuart; and one sister and brother-in-law, Mary C. and Ronnie Hiatt of Mount Airy, North Carolina.
Funeral services for Rev. Rorrer will be held Friday, November 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. J. R. Shelton, Rev. Jack Lemons, Rev. Billy Stegall and Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
