The Rev. Claude Allen Haynes, Sr., 90, of Lowgap, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born October 7, 1931, in Surry County, to the late Franklin Pierce and Foye Barker Haynes. The Rev. Haynes proudly served in and retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He loved God, and he loved his country. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who will surely be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Haynes; two sisters, Margaret Ramey and Fannie Lou Lyons; and two brothers, Bill Haynes and Barkie Haynes. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Jerry Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in the Round Peak Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard. Claude was a wonderful cousin and Christian brother to our Golding Family. Thank him for his service to our country. We will miss his bright smile and presence at our Golding Reunions. Rest well my friend in Heaven, God is thanking you for a "job well done on this earth". God Bless his family and prayers to all of them for comfort and peace. (Mike &
Diane Golding).
