Rev. Coy Clifford White, 78, loving husband of Mrs. Gladys Marsh White of Dobson, passed away on Monday January 18, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Surry County on March 12, 1931 to the late Coy and Floya Corder White. He was a devoted man of God who dedicated his life to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As the Pastor of Open Door Baptist Church, Rev. White touched many lives throughout his Ministry. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife and companion of 53 years, Mrs. Gladys Marsh White of the home; a daughter of whom he adored, Betty and husband Jim Taylor of Dobson and his beloved grandchildren, Cory and Kelsey Taylor; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Annie "Reecie" and Bill Johnson and Naomi and Clinton Watson and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Rev. White was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin White. His family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 until 8 pm at Moody-Davis Funeral Home with a committal service at 11:00 AM on Thursday January 21, 2010 at Fairview Baptist Church cemetery by Rev. Barlow Stanley. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Foothills Food Pantry 233 Cooper Street Dobson, NC 27017 or Gideon's International, Dobson Camp P.O. Box 791 Dobson, NC 27017 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
