Rev. Elbert Gray Kirkman

The Rev. Elbert Gray Kirkman, 65, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2020, at his home.  He was born October 13, 1954, in Surry County, to the late Elbert and Virginia Gates Kirkman.  The Rev. Kirkman was a pastor for more than 23 years.  Gray loved the Lord and was loved by everyone who knew him.  He was always positive about life.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Linda Moore Kirkman; a daughter, Christal Kirkman; a son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Renee Kirkman; his grandchildren, Christopher Kirkman and his wife, Alex, Courtney Kirkman and her fiancé, Zack Crisps, Madison Kirkman, Branson Kirkman, Rylie Kirkman, Lexi Hurley, Natalie Hurley, and Tristen Hurley; a great-grandchild, Mason Kirkman; a sister and brother-in-law, Audrey and Ronnie Riggs; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Buck Lankford; and special nieces and nephews, Margaret Burchette, Lou Ann Thomas, Eric Riggs, Christina Ellis, Brandon Holt, Megan Smith, and Amanda Brookes.  A graveside service will be held Monday, August 31, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Pete King officiating.  The family will receive friends Monday from 9:30 until 10:30 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
