Rev. James William Gentry

Rev. James William Gentry, age 67, of Dobson, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday November 13, 2022, at Atrium Healthcare-Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. He was born, September 13, 1955, in Surry County to the late David Alden Gentry and the late Mary Adams Gentry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chloe Ann Gentry; and his brother, Alden Roscoe Gentry. 

Left to cherish his memories are his Loving wife, Wanda Watson Gentry; son and daughter-in-law Rev. Michael and Melissa Gentry; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Cody McCormick; grandchildren, Hannah Gentry Johnson (Bailey), Priscilla Faith Gentry, Kayleigh McCormick, and Audrey McCormick; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Nadine and Boyd Parker; brothers and sisters -in-law, Dale Gentry, David Lee and Judy Gentry, and Larry Dean and Martha Gentry. Mr. Gentry was a member of Central View Missionary Baptist Church, retired from Chatham Manufacturing, attended Liberty University Bible College, he served as an Associate Pastor for many years at Faith Baptist Church, (Mt Airy, NC) was co-owner of James and Michael Painting Company Inc, and took pleasure in witnessing and sharing the Gospel, the good news of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ with others. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Central View Missionary Baptist Church. Services will begin at 2:00 PM in the church with Rev. Michael Gentry and Cody McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gideons International, the Dobson Camp, PO box 791, Dobson NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Service is serving the Gentry Family.
