Rev. Jimmie Ray Tucker

Rev. Jimmie Ray Tucker, age 73, of Dobson, NC passed away on Wednesday November 25, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born in Surry Co. on May 18, 1942 to the late Walter and Alice Hayes Tucker. He was the past Minister and member of Liberty Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers JW Tucker, Joe Bill Tucker and Jesse Tucker. Surviving is his wife Louise Riggs Tucker of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law Tammy and Michael Tate of Mt. Airy, Donna and Rex Marion of Dobson, Kim Mayes of Dunn, NC; six grandchildren Joshua Tate, Tabitha Jones, TC Simpson, Andrew Mayes, Ryan Mayes, Tyler Mayes; two step grandchildren Tara Marion Short, Kristi Marion Massey; five great grandchildren Abigial Hicks, Nolan Jones, Emery Simpson, Mackenzie Grace Tate, Blakely Mayes; three step-great-grandchildren Keaton Massey, Max Short, Georgia Short; two sisters and one brother-in-law Carolyn Ledbetter of Yadkinville, Patty and Sam Cockerham of Boonville; one brother and sister-in-law Wade and Elizabeth Tucker of Lexington; special nephew Jeff Freeman of Mt. Airy. Funeral service will be held 12:00 noon Saturday November 28, 2015 at Liberty Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Chris Park and Rev. Tony White will conduct the services. The family will receive friends on Saturday at Liberty Baptists Church from 11:00 AM until the time of his service at 12:00 Noon. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 401 Technology Lane Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family will receive friends at other times the home of his daughter Tammy Tate 1455 Simpson Mill Rd. Mt. Airy, NC 27030. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Tucker family.
